Saints Shutout Rhodes, 10-0

(WINTER HAVEN, Fla.) – The Thomas More College baseball team run-ruled Rhodes College, 10-0, in seven innings today (Tuesday, March 7, 2017) on the second day of the Central Florida Invitational at the Chain of Lakes Stadium in Winter Haven, Florida.

With the win, the Saints improve to 2-0 and with the loss, the Lynx fall to 7-8.  Thomas More plated four runs in the first and six runs in the third.  Junior pitcher Brandon Eliadis (Lawrenceburg, Ky./Anderson County) pitched seven shutout innings and only allowed four hits.

Five Saints had multiple hits in the game led by senior right fielder Ben Kenning (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder), who was two-for-four with two doubles, a run scored and three runs batted-in .  Senior center fielder Casey Metzger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was two-for-three with a run scored, sophomore first baseman Sean Lawrence (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) was two-for-three with a run scored, sophomore catcher Sam Hauer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) was two-for-four with two runs scored and a RBI and sophomore left fielder Joshua Boeckmann (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) was two-for-three with a run scored and a RBI.  Junior second baseman Ben Laumann (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was one-for-three with a home run and two RBI.

Thomas More returns to the diamond tomorrow when it plays Husson College at 3:15 p.m. at Lake Myrtle Field No. 1 in Auburndale, Florida.
