Saints Fall in Spring Opener Against NKU

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College men's tennis team opened its spring season today as they took on Northern Kentucky University at Five Seasons Indoor tennis courts. The Saints fell 7-0 today to the Norse, falling to a 2-2 record. The men's tennis team competed in three matches in the fall, going 2-1.

In singles competition, the Norse took the Saints 6-0. Jared Haught went 6-1, 6-4 falling to his opponent. Jeffrey Schenk took fell to his opponent 6-2, 6-2 in the number two spot. Michael Schwarz and Derrick Kwok both fell to their singles opponents 6-1, 6-2 while Wesley Smith and Sheldon Preisler both fell 6-0, 6-0.

Over on the doubles side of competition, the Norse took all three matches. Duo Derrick Kwok and Jared Haught fell to their opponents 6-4. Doubles pair Sheldon Preisler and Jeffrey Schenk fell 6-2, and wrapping up the match were Alex Traylor and Brandon Kwock, falling 6-1.

The Saints compete next on February 24 when they travel to Defiance. Match time will begin at 5:00 p.m.
